The Great Indian Kitchen, 2021 – ★★★½

This film is a lens into the patriarchal injustices that women endure in the garb of traditions and responsibility in Indian society. It’s a slap in the face that comes packaged as a subtle slow burn which should leave men disgusted, but sadly is a drop in the turbulent oceans. Worth the watch, but you’ll want to then wash it away with mountains of candy floss. Reality sucks. Not my cup of tea at all, but that’s not to say it’s not a tale that needs telling.
