Starting a film with someone having a bad dream about their trauma should have set my expectations to average or below, but oddly, it’s the title that made me expect more.
What we get is a functional bad-guys chase good guys to a small town where the local folk step up affair, where the novelty comes from the scenic town that’s prone to wildfires & weather playing antagonism. Not bad, but nothing new.
With the scenic town, I can’t help but think it could have been used for a story that used the scenery & the weather problem in a more integral and novel way and the blooming “what ifs” after the film are what make me think what they’ve done is just a bit too generic.
Not frustrated that I watched it, but can’t see a repeat watch happening.
