What if the guy who did Guardians of the Galaxy did Suicide Squad? If you feel the answer to that is… “I’d watch that”, then great, that’s exactly what you’re getting. Not just in terms of the director, but also in terms of tone, humour, dialogue. It’s a fun ride.
I swear the third act feels like a massive homage to the Staypuft marshmallow man from Ghostbusters and for this world that flies, but for someone who’s not necessarily in-tune with this flavour of storytelling, I can see how they might feel like someone threw them in an asylum with a unicorn. You’ve been warned. 🙂
