Acts of Vengeance, 2017 – ★★½

Sometimes a title sells it. Personally, it was that for me. I’m a sucker for a decent revenge drama. It delivers, but just about. As the plot unravels, it falls into the predictable, which isn’t so bad, but the last revelation took me out of the story.

It felt just one step too far in terms of the character motivation. The plausibility was there, but lacking the right set-up, the emotion didn’t land. Easily fixable too.

Ah well. The lesson to take away:
Write it so it’s unpredictable, yet inevitable, as the gurus say.
