Kantara, 2022 – ★★★½

A cultural deep-dive into a region unfamiliar to me, which was entertaining and educational in equal parts.

Although it may be honest and authentic in its portrayal of the societal norms there, the hero’s patriarchal ways were on the border of creepy and stuck out as moments that were wrong, despite the rest of the story having zilch to do with it.

The rest being a far more interesting conundrum. Are hostile takeovers of lands justified? The debate in terms of ownership and residence which favours oppression by default.
